Jared Bennett, High School Youth Director

While Jared was born in Portland and lived in Clatskanie, Oregon until he was eight years old, he spent most of his childhood in Iowa with his parents and three younger siblings. In August of 2009, he married Stephanie, his childhood friend from his hometown.

When Jared and Stephanie were looking for a new home church in the summer of 2010, he looked into Clackamas Bible Church after a friend recommended he submit an application to work with the high school group.  They decided after just one visit that this was going to be their church home because the warm, caring atmosphere reminded them so much of where they grew up.  "It's like a little slice of Iowa but without all the corn!"

Family is number one to Jared. His wife keeps him grounded while their cat keeps him on his toes. He enjoys the technology that enables him to keep in touch with his family in Iowa.

Since 2006, Jared has been attending Multnomah University where he is currently on track to graduate in 2013 with a double Major/Minor in Biblical Studies, Youth Ministry, and Psychology (with an emphasis on Counseling).

A passage of scripture that means a lot to Jared is Matthew 14:22-33. He is always learning and growing in his faith but when, like Peter, he loses his focus and needs rescuing, the Savior is always there to grab his hand and pull him back up.
